According to Anvar Turdubekov, the head of the Ak-Tyuz ayil okmotu, the date of the archival photograph can be determined as either 1977 or 1982.
“We were not witnesses of that time; however, the older generation claims that the hockey team from Ak-Tyuz was one of the strongest in the republic. At the upper part of the village, there is a stadium that serves for football matches in the summer and turns into an ice rink in the winter. Hockey competitions were held in this place. The team from our village actively participated in republican tournaments. According to the stories of the elders, this photo could have been taken in 1982 or 1977, as significant hockey tournaments were held in our settlement during those years,” noted A. Turdubekov.
