The Main Department of Internal Affairs of Chui Region urged drivers and pedestrians to exercise caution due to fog and ice.
According to the police, difficult conditions are observed on various sections of the roads. This is particularly true for the Bishkek – Osh highway in the area of the Too-Ashuu pass, where there is heavy fog and ice. Similar weather conditions have also been recorded on the bypass roads of the Issyk-Ata and Kemin districts, as well as in mountainous areas and recreational zones, where visibility is significantly reduced.
The Main Internal Affairs Directorate recommends that drivers adhere to speed limits, maintain a safe distance, avoid sharp maneuvers and sudden braking. It is also important to check the technical condition of the vehicle, particularly the braking system, lighting devices, and windshield wipers. For safety reasons, it is advisable to refrain from long trips, especially to mountainous areas, until the weather improves.
Pedestrians should be especially attentive when crossing the roadway, follow traffic rules, and use reflective elements in low visibility conditions.
