This damage only concerns the protective layer of concrete that safeguards the metal structure supporting the support. It is important to note that this does not threaten the main supports on which the stadium roof relies.
“The supports are reinforced with three layers of concrete and additionally secured with two-meter-long rebar. Despite this, the contractor responsible for the construction will restore the damaged areas. It is also worth noting that the construction of concrete elements on the damaged metal fence was not supervised by our management, and therefore this work is not related to our activities,” representatives of the Capital Construction Management stated.
Turmush reported in October 2024 that the installation of a roof over the spectator areas had begun on the northern, southern, and eastern stands. For this purpose, metal structures were installed over 11,000 seats. The tender for these works was won by the company "Universal Company LTD" with a bid of 84,831,457 soms.
According to the Ministry of Justice data as of October 2024, the founder and director of LLC "Universal Company LTD" was Akylbek uulu Almazbek. The main activity of the company is the construction of residential and non-residential buildings.
On March 17, 2025, the company underwent re-registration, and the new director became Abiev Ulukbek Asanovich.
On February 3, 2026, residents of the city reported that there was concrete destruction on some supports of the roof at the central stadium named after Akhmatbek Suyumbaev. Damage was also observed on the concrete fence on the left side of the Osh City Sports Committee building.
The technical supervisor of the stadium construction, Erkin Ergeshov, noted in an interview with Turmush that the concrete elements were poured at the base of the supports to extend their service life, and their destruction will not lead to structural problems. “This concerns only a few supports that hold up the stadium roof. The concrete was poured at the base to increase durability. Damage to this layer does not affect the strength of the structure, as the base of the supports is sufficiently strong. In the future, periodic renewal of the concrete or painting will be required. We will take care of the plastering and painting,” he clarified.
He added that the base of the supports was deepened by two meters, followed by the concreting process and the installation of the supports themselves.
In addition, the concrete sections of the fence on the left side of the Osh City Sports Committee building have also begun to deteriorate. Committee employee Farukh Sydykov reported that this fence was installed by the previous management.
“This section on the left is private property. The previous management fenced off the area to prevent possible construction. When the stadium supports were being installed, earthworks were conducted, and the soil was dumped on this side, which led to damage to the concrete of the fence. Inside, the concrete is in good condition, but outside it has suffered,” Sydykov explained.
He added that measures are currently being taken to repair the damaged fence.
