“All elevators are under round-the-clock control. We handle both repairs and the evacuation of people throughout the city,” he shares.
The dispatch service "Bishkekgorlift" takes calls 24/7 from all corners of the city. People report stuck elevators and malfunctions. All information is recorded and passed on to the duty team, which immediately heads to the scene of the call.
“We try to evacuate people as quickly as possible and get the elevator back in operation,” Azamat explains.
Calls come from different parts of the city, which sometimes creates difficulties.
“For example, calls may come from 'Alamedin-1' and 'Jala', where children are stuck. In such cases, we need to choose which location we can reach faster and whose call came in first,” the electromechanic recounts.
If you happen to get stuck in an elevator, here are some recommendations:
- Press the "Call" button to contact the dispatcher;
- Do not attempt to escape on your own; wait for professional help;
- Stay calm; remember that you are not in danger in the elevator, it is impossible to suffocate;
- It’s better to sit down and lean your back against the wall rather than the doors.
