Some drivers noted that they are well aware of the traffic rules, while others admitted that they are not fully familiar with the road signs.
The majority of drivers indicated that they obtained their licenses 20–39 years ago; however, many of them cannot name most of the road signs.
The raid covers all districts and cities of the Issyk-Kul region.
Traffic police urged drivers to adhere to speed limits and pay closer attention to traffic rules. They also recommended that taxi drivers obtain the appropriate licenses.
Currently, 800 taxi drivers in the administrative center of the Issyk-Kul region have received licenses.
