The Ministry of Transport of Uzbekistan has signed an agreement with the administration of the port of Karachi to create specialized warehouse facilities for handling export and import cargo, as reported by Podrobno.uz.

During negotiations in Pakistan, an agreement was reached on the allocation of land plots and ready-made spaces for the formation of Uzbek logistics terminals. This will allow local carriers to manage the processes of accumulation and distribution of goods in the seaport more efficiently, eliminating the need to involve third-party operators.

The priority is to create favorable conditions for transit, as well as to provide incentives for investors interested in developing port infrastructure.
Official confirmation of the large-scale transport route through Uzbekistan and Afghanistan took place at the highest level during negotiations between the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, and the Prime Minister of Pakistan, Shahbaz Sharif.
The initiative to create a multimodal corridor connecting Belarus, Russia, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Afghanistan, and Pakistan will ensure the connection of CIS countries with the deep-water ports of Gwadar and Karachi. Uzbekistan will play the role of an important transit hub in this project, providing access for the countries of the region to the Indian Ocean.
