As of the end of 2025, Turkey demonstrated historically high results in the tourism sector, as reported at a press conference in Istanbul by the country's Minister of Culture and Tourism, Mehmet Nuri Ersoy. He presented the official statistics for the year.
The minister noted that the country was visited by 64 million foreign tourists, and the sector's revenues amounted to 65 billion 231 million dollars, which is an absolute record for Turkey.
Ersoy emphasized that Turkey confidently defends its position in the international tourism market and is now among the most sought-after destinations. The strategic goal for 2026 is to achieve tourism revenues of 68 billion dollars.
He also added that the country's tourism industry is expanding and is no longer limited to just beach vacations. Turkey is actively developing cultural and religious tourism, ecological and natural routes, as well as medical, gastronomic, and winter tourism, including cruise trips and congress-exhibition events.
Among the successful initiatives are the "Heritage for the Future" and "Night Museums" projects, aimed at preserving and popularizing cultural heritage.
The Kyrgyz market is also showing positive dynamics. In 2025, Turkey was visited by 199,280 citizens of Kyrgyzstan, which is an 8% increase compared to 2024. This agency noted that this growth indicates a constant interest of Kyrgyz citizens in Turkey as one of the popular tourist destinations.
