On February 4 and 5, a seminar titled "Strengthening Cooperation in the Defense Industry between India and Kyrgyzstan" took place in Bishkek.
This event was held with the support of the Indian Embassy in Bishkek, the Department of Defense Production of the Ministry of Defense of India, the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI), and the Ministry of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic.

More than 75 people participated in the seminar: about 40 representatives from the Kyrgyz side, including employees from the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the State Border Service, the State Penitentiary Service, and representatives from five defense companies, as well as 35 Indian participants from the embassy, FICCI, and 15 defense enterprises.

The first day of the seminar was dedicated to presentations and a product exhibition, while the second day was reserved for B2B meetings.

Birender Singh Yadav, the Indian Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan, emphasized at the opening of the seminar that under Prime Minister Narendra Modi's "Atmanirbhar Bharat" program, the country's defense sector has undergone significant reforms aimed at developing domestic production and export. He noted that Indian defense products have gained interest in international markets due to their effectiveness.

Additionally, the ambassador highlighted that Kyrgyzstan, due to its strategically convenient location and growing interest in technology, is a promising partner for India, which is ready to become a reliable ally in defense and technology. He called for the active development of joint projects in advanced technologies.

The Deputy Minister of Defense of Kyrgyzstan, Azizbek Baibalaev, was the main guest of the event and in his speech emphasized the growing military and military-technical cooperation between the two countries, stating that the seminar would serve as a foundation for further interaction in the defense sector.

The seminar was conceived as a platform for deepening cooperation within the framework of strategic partnership, bringing together representatives of government structures, defense companies, and experts from both countries, which is an important step towards the implementation of joint projects in the future.
