Kyrgyz collectible coins and banknotes were highly appreciated by international experts at the largest global forum
From January 26 to February 1, 2026, the World Money Fair took place in Berlin, where the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic (NBKR) presented its exclusive exhibition consisting of more than 30 unique samples of coins and banknotes. Participation in this prestigious event, which gathers over 300 participants from 50 countries, highlights Kyrgyzstan's desire to showcase its cultural heritage on the international numismatic stage.
The NBKR's strategy was to promote the history and uniqueness of the country through the lens of the national currency. Among the presented series, one can highlight the "Era of the Kyrgyz Kaganate" and "World Nomad Games," which were distinguished by a high level of artistic execution and technological complexity. The regulator noted that the Kyrgyz exhibition attracted the attention of both private collectors and leading experts from various mints around the world.
The exhibition featured banknotes and collectible coins covering the following themes:
“Historical Events”;
“Era of the Kyrgyz Kaganate”;
“Monuments of History and Architecture of Kyrgyzstan”;
“Kyrgyz Customs and Rituals”;
“National Musical Instruments”;
“National Sports and Folk Games”;
“World Nomad Games”;
“Red Book of Kyrgyzstan”.
In total, the exhibition presented over thirty different exhibits that showcased the richness of the national currency.
The NBKR's participation in the World Money Fair is an important tool of "soft power" for central banks. By showcasing coins from the "Red Book of Kyrgyzstan" and "National Musical Instruments" series, the NBKR effectively positions the national currency as a work of art and a historical artifact. The professional community noted the uniqueness of the presented lots, which contributes to increasing the investment attractiveness of Kyrgyz numismatic products on the international stage.
