At the meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, deputy Bolot Borbiev raised the issue of measures to reduce traffic congestion in Bishkek, pointing out their impact on the level of smog in the city.
In response, the First Deputy Prime Minister Daniyar Amangeldiev reported on the development of a master plan for the capital, which includes the creation of new interchanges, installation of modern traffic lights, as well as the construction of highways and overpasses.
Vice Mayor Ramis Aliyev added that various works are planned as part of this plan.
“This year we intend to repair 120 km of city roads, including 6 bridges and 3 interchanges. The main focus will be on public transport. We will also open 12 new streets,” he emphasized.
