At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, Deputy Suyunbek Omurzakov raised the relevant issue of high rental prices for housing. He pointed out that despite active construction throughout the republic, rental costs continue to remain high.
“Young families and low-income individuals find it extremely difficult to find affordable housing. Compared to neighboring countries, our rental prices are higher. How do you plan to regulate these prices?” Omurzakov asked.
In response, the First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Daniyar Amangeldiev, reported that a program based on Islamic financing principles is being implemented by the State Mortgage Company.
He added that under this program, it is planned to rent out constructed apartments with the option of subsequent purchase. The draft law concerning this issue has already been ratified by parliament.
“We have reached an agreement with the Islamic Fund for financing in the amount of 200 million dollars. Currently, the fund is ready to increase the amount to 400 million dollars. We intend to attract these funds, as we are confident that the project will be successful,” noted Amangeldiev.
