In Kyrgyzstan, enrichment plants will be built to combat smog

During a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, deputy Cholpon Esenamanova raised the issue of smog faced by the residents of Kara-Balta.
She pointed out that the sources of air pollution in the city include the CHPP, the landfill, the Junda oil refinery, as well as the enterprises "Asia Steel" and "Textile," which leads to a deterioration in children's health.
The First Deputy Chairman of the Cabinet of Ministers, Daniyar Amangeldiev, reported that the activities of "Asia Steel" have been temporarily suspended until all violations are eliminated.
He also noted that the government has decided to ban the import and use of small coal, and the president allocated 2 million dollars from his fund for the construction of enrichment plants.
In response to the deputy's questions about the gasification of houses in Kara-Balta and Kainy, as well as the timelines for gasification in the Jayil, Panfilov, and Talas districts,
representative of Gazprom Kyrgyzstan LLC, Azamat Aldayev, stated that gasification work has begun in the village of Poltavka; however, the upper zone of Kara-Balta is not yet covered by this program. According to plans, gasification should be completed by 2030.

“There are issues with capacity at the gas distribution station, and resolving this issue will require 2 billion soms,” he added.
