The Ministry of Internal Affairs of Kyrgyzstan has announced the implementation of a large-scale project called "Safe Country," under which the phased installation of 20,000 modern video cameras is planned. This information was provided by representatives of the department.
Since 2022, a facial recognition system has been successfully operating at the Operational Management Center, which has helped identify more than 3,000 individuals suspected of crimes, as well as those reported missing.
Currently, over 3,000 cameras are conducting round-the-clock monitoring, utilizing artificial intelligence technologies to analyze the collected information.
It is important to note that this system demonstrates high efficiency even when faces are concealed by medical masks or glasses. When matches are detected, the data is immediately transmitted to operational services.
