In Batken, the construction of a daily regulation pool (DRP) for storing water from the Kara-Kol canal is planned. This information was announced at the presidential representative office in the region.
Among those familiarizing themselves with the progress of the work were the deputy presidential representative Abdirashit Tashbaltayev, the district akim Danir Imanaliev, and the mayor of Batken Seytek Kulubaev. They, together with representatives of water management services and irrigation specialists, inspected the restoration process of the Kara-Kol canal and discussed the placement of water storage facilities.
A budget of 23 million soms has been allocated from the republican budget for the implementation of the project to construct a 14 km canal and a head water intake unit. Additionally, the Aga Khan international organization provided a grant of 24 million soms. Furthermore, 16 million 900 thousand soms have been directed to the head water intake of the Kara-Kol canal.

The completion of this significant project will provide irrigation water for 1,200 hectares of agricultural land, significantly improving irrigation conditions for nearby settlements.

With the use of water up to 1 cubic meter per second through a drip irrigation system, it is planned to double the cultivated areas.
