Kyrgyz film "Kurak" won an award at an international film festival in India

The film tells the stories of women who faced violence


At the 17th International Film Festival in Bangalore (BIFFES), which takes place from January 29 to February 6, the Kyrgyz film "Kurak" won a prestigious award.

The festival, organized by the Karnataka Chalanachitra Academy with the support of the Karnataka state government, has become one of the leading and rapidly developing film festivals in India. This year, the program features over 200 films from 60 countries, which will be screened on 13 screens in approximately 400 sessions.

The film "Kurak" was the only representative from Central Asia in the main competition section, where 15 feature films competed.

The director and producer of the film is Erke Jumakmatova. The film is dedicated to the fates of women who have experienced violence.
