A heartfelt meeting took place in a creative atmosphere
On February 3, 2026, a creative meeting was held in Almaty, where the granddaughter of the famous Kyrgyz writer and diplomat Chingiz Aitmatov, Chinara Aitmatova, met with the renowned poet and public figure Olzhas Suleimenov. This was reported on social media by politician and public figure Zainidin Kurmanov.

During the meeting, Olzhas Suleimenov was presented with a commemorative medal from the Issyk-Kul Forum named after Ch. Aitmatov.
“Chinara delivered, on my behalf, to Olzhas Omarovich a copy of my address to the Nobel Committee regarding the awarding of the Nobel Peace Prize, as well as two books: my monograph 'The First,' dedicated to the 130th anniversary of the founding father of Kyrgyz statehood, Imanaly Aydarbekov (St. Petersburg, 2014), and the memoirs of my father, Professor of Law Karpek Kurmanov, titled 'Confession of a Lawyer.' This second edition (B., 2017) is an immensely important book about Kyrgyz-Kazakh brotherhood and friendship,” Kurmanov noted in his message.

On May 16, 2026, Olzhas Suleimenov will turn 90 years old. Let us wish this dear person to every Kyrgyz heart good health and success!” he added.
