The Ministry of Labor reminded about the responsibility for delayed wages

The Ministry of Labor, Social Security, and Migration of the Kyrgyz Republic made an important statement regarding the responsibility of employers for the untimely payment of wages in accordance with the new Labor Code.

The agency noted that a uniform penalty rate for delayed payments to employees has been established. In the event that wages, vacation pay, severance pay, or other mandatory payments are not made on time, the employer is obliged to pay a penalty of 0.25% for each day of delay from the total amount at the time of actual payment.

Furthermore, the new Labor Code defines the statute of limitations for such cases. Employees whose wages have not been paid on time can file a lawsuit within three years from the day the payment was due.

The ministry emphasized that these measures are aimed at improving the protection of workers' rights and increasing employers' accountability for compliance with labor legislation.
