Mobile phones of citizens are being checked in the Moscow metro - media

Checks of mobile devices among citizens have begun in the Moscow metro. Passengers may be asked to turn on their phones, similar to procedures conducted at airports with laptops to verify their authenticity, reports the publication "Pod'yem".

"The introduction of new measures for checking mobile phones, regulated by the order of the Ministry of Transport of Russia dated February 4, 2025, No. 34, may be implemented in addition to the already existing security measures if necessary," commented the situation in the press service of the Moscow Department of Transport.

Previously, similar initiatives were proposed by the authorities of St. Petersburg, who explained this by the need to enhance security in the region.
