According to the first deputy minister of defense, Talaybek Sharshiev, at a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh on finance, budget, entrepreneurship, and competition development, the income from alternative service in 2024 amounted to 714 million soms.
Sharshiev added that it is difficult to determine the exact number of citizens who have completed alternative service, as the process of staffing and preparation for wartime is currently ongoing.
According to preliminary data, the Ministry of Defense reports that the income from alternative service in 2025 also amounted to about 750 million soms.
He also clarified that if we consider the total revenue from alternative service and officer programs, then in 2024 they amounted to 1.2 billion soms.
