The history of this stone dates back to 2013-2014, when local residents accidentally stumbled upon it. Its unusual shape and bright color immediately caught the attention of geologists, who initially assumed it was jade.
Later, experts clarified that it is nephroid; however, its scientific and visual value did not diminish. On the contrary, the uniqueness of the stone and its size have made it a potential magnet for tourists.
Since its discovery, the stone had been buried due to the threat of theft — it was of interest to resellers and collectors. For many years, local residents actively advocated for making the stone accessible to tourists and turning it into a full-fledged attraction.

Nephroid is a general term for a group of minerals similar to jade but of lower quality, often with cracks and less saturated color. These rocks are used as ornamental stones for making figurines and vases, unlike jade, which is considered a precious stone.
