How Much Does Livestock Cost: Price Overview in the Village of Chym-Korgon
Stalbek, a livestock breeder from the Alamudun district, noted that prices for livestock remain stable.
“Overall, the price has fluctuated slightly — it hasn’t increased or decreased significantly. For example, farm sheep cost between 15,000 and 20,000 soms, while lambs range from 10,000 to 15,000 soms. Half-bred sheep can be purchased for about 20,000 to 30,000 soms, while purebred Arashan sheep cost over 50,000 soms. I have 50 pregnant ewes in my farm, which I sell for 25,000 soms each,” he shared.
According to the sellers, the price of cattle varies depending on their breed and health condition.
“Prices for calves range from 70,000 to 130,000 soms, while heifers cost between 50,000 and 80,000 soms. Cows with calves are valued at approximately 150,000 to 200,000 soms, and pregnant heifers are around 130,000 soms. Yesterday, a 2.5-year-old bull of the 'Mobilyar' breed was brought to the market, and its price was 350,000 soms,” they added.
Entry to the livestock market in Chym-Korgon costs 50 soms for large cattle and 20 soms for small livestock.
