In Kyrgyzstan, the number of cars has reached almost 2 million
According to the information from the Minister of Natural Resources, Ecology, and Technical Supervision, Meder Mashiev, the total number of registered vehicles in Kyrgyzstan is 1 million 909 thousand 61 units. This data became known during a meeting of the committee of the Jogorku Kenesh, which deals with issues of agricultural policy, water resources, ecology, and environmental protection.
The minister noted that the increase in the number of vehicles in the country by 13% creates additional environmental problems. The structure of the vehicle fleet includes: 972 thousand gasoline cars, 339 thousand diesel cars, 56 thousand gas-powered vehicles, and 37 thousand hybrid cars.
Additionally, Mashiev pointed out that by 2025, 15 thousand 278 electric vehicles were imported into the republic, which constitutes only 0.8% of the total number of cars. In 2024, the share of vehicles no older than five years was 1.5%, and this year this figure has risen to 4.5%.
In Bishkek, there are 1 thousand 447 gas buses, 120 electric buses, and 12 standard 12-meter buses in public transport. The minister also added that more than 100 charging stations for electric vehicles have been installed in the city.
