Kantemir Baizakov, a hunter from the village of Ichke-Bulun in the Jeti-Oguz district of the Issyk-Kul region, successfully shot three wolves.

This information was shared with a Turmush correspondent.

According to Baizakov, the wolves have begun to cause serious damage to livestock breeders by killing their animals.

“I have been hunting predators for 15 years, often traveling to remote areas. On February 1, herders contacted us with information that wolves were attacking livestock in the Ak-Shyyrak valley in the Jeti-Oguz district. Together with my younger brother Duyshonbu Mukalaev, we went to the scene and shot three adult wolves in the Beshik and Tuyuk gorges, which lead to the Ak-Shyyrak valley,” he said.

The herders reported that the predators were attacking yak calves. Each of the wolves weighed over 50 kilograms. This season, I have managed to shoot more than ten wolves already, and we plan to continue hunting predators. We also recently visited the remote Archaly valley in the Ton district, where we also hunted a wolf. Currently, the wolves are descending to the foothills, posing a threat to livestock,” the hunter added.
