The two-story building of the Opera and Ballet Theater is being removed from the balance sheet, - deputy
Atambaev asked Deputy Minister of Culture Marat Tagaev about the current situation regarding this facility.
The Deputy Minister, although not directly involved in this issue, shared general information. He noted that this concerns a workshop that was previously used for creating sets, but in recent years has been left unattended.
"The government has made a decision to redistribute this building. A plot of land measuring 25 hundredths has been allocated in the center of the capital for the construction of a new theater building," Tagaev added.
Deputy Atambaev emphasized that this space was used not only as a workshop but also as a cloakroom and for other needs of the theater. He noted that the decision to remove it was made on January 30 and should be implemented within 10 days, despite protests from the theater staff. Atambaev suggested that his colleagues visit the site and assess the situation firsthand.
The Deputy Minister clarified that the building was leased in 2016 and is currently in poor condition. He reaffirmed that plans for the construction of a new building for opera and ballet are underway.
Atambaev proposed that his colleagues inspect the site by February 13.
Committee Chair Toktobubu Ashymbaeva suggested adding this issue to the agenda of the meeting.
