Starting from March 1, 2026, citizens of Uzbekistan who have lived in Turkey for at least three years will be able to obtain work permits automatically. This was reported by "Azattyk Asia," citing information from the Migration Agency of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

This agreement was reached during a meeting between Behzod Musaev, head of the Uzbek migration agency, and Vedat Işıkhan, the Minister of Labor and Social Security of Turkey.

From March 1, to obtain a work permit, Uzbeks will need to find an employer, obtain a special visa at the consulate in their homeland, and go through approval via an information system. This will simplify the employment process for citizens of Uzbekistan.

During the negotiations, it was also agreed to sign a document under which the Turkish employment service İŞKUR will centrally compile a list of the most in-demand professions in the labor market and send requests to Uzbekistan.

Additionally, Ankara and Tashkent reached an agreement to continue the legalization of Uzbek citizens in Turkey without documents, focusing on protecting their rights without applying harsh measures such as deportation. This work will be systematic.

It was also reported that an agreement was concluded between the migration agency and the Turkish company KSK Tezimlik, which involves attracting 2,500 Uzbek builders to work on major projects in Ankara. The need for labor should be met this year.

These important documents simplifying the employment of citizens of Uzbekistan in Turkey were signed during the official visit of the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to Ankara.
