On January 29, 2026, at 10:00, medications for pediatric oncology worth over 1.6 million soms were delivered in Bishkek and Osh. These medications were, among other things, sent to the pediatric oncology department of the Mother and Child Protection Institute in Bishkek.

The delivery of medications was made possible thanks to a charitable project organized by Patrick Maierle from Ravensburg (Germany) and Peter Bree from West Chester (USA) as part of their participation in the Silk Road Mountain Race, which took place in Kyrgyzstan from August 15 to 30, 2025. This race is considered one of the most challenging in the world.

Athletes dedicated their participation in the race to children with cancer in Kyrgyzstan and raised 15,809 euros. The project was carried out in partnership with the charitable organization Umai - Hilfe für Kirgistan e.V. from Stuttgart (Germany) and the "Helping is Easy" foundation.

This is not Patrick Maierle's first initiative within the framework of the "Silk Road" cycling race. In 2025, he also participated in a similar project, raising about 1 million soms, which were directed towards medications for children in Kyrgyzstan.

Before the race, Patrick and Peter visited the pediatric oncology department in Osh, where they met with children and their parents.
