Will the houses on Sheralieva Street in Bishkek be demolished?
"And in previous master plans, there was a road there"
At a meeting with Vice Mayor Azamat Kadyrov, Deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh from the "Mekentchil" group, Zhanibek Abirov, raised the issue of the possible demolition of houses on Sheralieva Street due to the planned road modernization.
He noted that residents whose homes may be at risk of demolition as a result of the street expansion from Akhunbaev to Gagarin are experiencing anxiety. "Property prices in this area are starting to decline," Abirov added.
In response, the vice mayor stated that the mayor's office is openly informing the public about the upcoming changes.
"Previously, the master plans did indeed include a road. However, discussions of the master plans were held behind closed doors, and people were not aware of the plans for the street expansion. Now we are holding public hearings and taking citizens' opinions into account. The street expansion will not begin immediately, but it is already included in the project," Kadyrov reported.
According to preliminary data, about 100 houses in this area may be subject to demolition as a result of the upcoming road works.
