The Minister of Health of the Kyrgyz Republic, Kanbek Dosmambetov, introduced the new head of the State Enterprise "Kyrgyzpharmacia" on January 29, 2026. The position of director was taken by Junusov Bolot Tologonovich in accordance with the order of the Cabinet of Ministers.
During his speech, the minister emphasized the need for urgent measures and radical changes in the work of "Kyrgyzpharmacia." This enterprise is responsible for providing the country's medical institutions with quality and affordable medicines; however, in recent years it has faced a systemic crisis. Despite the availability of funding, the effectiveness of its use leaves much to be desired: purchases are not completed on time, leading to shortages of vital medications and equipment.
Kanbek Dosmambetov noted that the main reason for the current situation is internal management issues, such as ineffective management, conflicts of interest, and even the involvement of previous leaders in dubious schemes with pharmaceutical companies. Therefore, the most important criterion for selecting a new director was his independence from the pharmaceutical mafia. Junusov Bolot Tologonovich has experience in public service, international diplomacy, and crisis management, making him a suitable candidate.
The minister added that to balance the leadership, a second deputy director will be appointed, who will be a professional pharmacologist and will take control of purchases and drug supply. This is necessary to ensure that the medications meet WHO standards and procurement requirements.
The key task of the new leadership will be to establish direct connections with verified manufacturers, to refuse purchases through intermediaries, and to prevent the practice of acquiring medical equipment from unreliable companies. The minister emphasized the importance of purchasing equipment only from global manufacturers that offer guarantees of 15 years or more. It is also necessary to focus on international non-proprietary names (INN) and avoid commercial manipulations.
The minister specifically addressed plans for restructuring the logistics and pharmacy network "El Aman." In the near future, "Kyrgyzpharmacia" intends to attract a state loan of 2 billion soms, of which 500 million will be directed to support the pharmacy network to ensure the population has access to affordable and quality medicines. A centralized service unit for the technical maintenance of medical equipment will also be created, and medical engineers will be introduced into hospitals.

- Education: Graduated from the Kyrgyz State National University with a degree in "historian," as well as the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
- Work experience: Worked in business structures, served as the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Kyrgyzstan to Russia, and was the first deputy head of the government apparatus of the Kyrgyz Republic.
