In Bishkek, an inspection of several facilities responsible for the city's water supply was conducted by the city administration.
According to the press service of the mayor's office, the first stop on the route was the water intake "Orto-Alysh," where work is currently underway to clean the replenishment lakes. So far, 4 out of 11 lakes have been cleaned, utilizing 8 excavators and 5 dump trucks. This water intake supplies 8,600 cubic meters of water, meeting the needs of about 40% of the capital's population.

During the visit, Mayor Aibek Junushaliev emphasized the need for coordination with the Municipal Enterprise "Bishkek Heat and Power Plant" to expedite the start of repair work. This is being done to ensure stable water supply for residents during the summer months.

It was also instructed that the Municipal Enterprise "Bishkekvodokanal" notify agricultural facilities about the transition to drip irrigation. If this directive is ignored, appropriate measures will be taken.

The next facility inspected was the water intake structure "HBO." After reconstruction, 5 wells are actively operating here: 3 have been repaired, and 2 new ones have been drilled, each capable of producing 160 cubic meters per hour. Additionally, 4 second-lift pumping units have been installed. This water intake provides drinking water to residents of the Kok-Zhar residential area and the neighborhoods bounded by the streets Ankara, Dostoevsky, L. Tolstoy, and April 7.

The mayor's office noted that the completion of work on this facility was initially planned for February 2026, but due to accelerated progress, it will be completed by December 2025.
