Daiyrbek Orunbekov: Two and a half months is not enough to prepare a driver
He provided examples from foreign practice
The head of the information policy service of the presidential administration, Daiyrbek Orunbekov, expressed the opinion that two and a half months of training is insufficient for a comprehensive preparation of a driver. In his comments, he pointed out the public discontent regarding the 10-month period established for training in driving schools.
Orunbekov noted that such a short period will not allow students to acquire the necessary knowledge at a deep level. "The ten-month training program includes both theoretical and practical classes, which will not be held daily, but two to three times a week for 2-3 hours. The course will also cover aspects of psychology and road ethics," he shared on social media. Additionally, he emphasized that in other countries, the training periods for drivers are also quite lengthy.
For example, in Finland, training can take up to a year, after which students receive a temporary license. In Germany, this period varies from 6 to 12 months, while in Sweden and Norway, training can last up to a year. In countries such as the USA, Canada, Australia, the United Kingdom, and New Zealand, the training periods can extend up to two years.
