In Osh, a scheme for "free" transportation of foreign students has been uncovered
According to available data, some students pay for their fare online only once and then share an image of the receipt in WhatsApp. As a result, 10–20 people use the same receipt, showing it to the driver as proof of payment, and exit the bus.
This practice creates significant difficulties for drivers and disrupts order in public transport.
The press service of the municipal transport enterprise of Osh reported that passengers who commit such violations will be handed over to law enforcement agencies. "Groups of foreign students of 10–20 people enter the bus, and only one of them pays for the fare, sending the receipt to the group chat. The others show the driver the same receipt and exit. If such cases are discovered, we hand these passengers over to the police. A report is drawn up on them, and measures are taken in accordance with the law. After a recent incident, raids began today. If violations are recorded, we will hand the passengers over to the internal affairs department," the enterprise noted.
In turn, the Internal Affairs Department of the city of Osh reported that after a video appeared on social media, two foreign students were identified, and explanatory conversations were held with them. "After the video spread, we identified two students and had a conversation with them. The information has been communicated to the management. Currently, under the direction of the management, work is being carried out in educational institutions among foreign students and citizens using public transport," the Internal Affairs Department added.
Currently, control over compliance with fare payment rules in public transport has become stricter, and raids continue.
