Gulsharkan Kultaeva, a deputy of the Jogorku Kenesh, has proposed an initiative to prohibit banks and microfinance institutions from granting loans to young people aged 18 to 25 without prior consent from their parents.

During the discussion of amendments to the Law "On the Exchange of Credit Information," the parliamentarian emphasized that young people can easily obtain loans through banking apps, even without a stable income.

“Many of them are unemployed and depend on their parents. They can take out a loan without notifying their parents, which negatively impacts their future. Young people lack financial literacy and an understanding of money management rules,” the deputy noted.

The Deputy Chairman of the National Bank of the Kyrgyz Republic, Medet Tairov, stated that this issue will be brought up for discussion with representatives of the banks.
