In the village of Chelpek, sidewalks will be built along 7 km of roads — owners of structures that have crossed the "red line" are being warned.
The event is attended by the first deputy mayor of Karakol, Kubat Isakov, as well as representatives from the road management, architecture, the water utility, the State Registration Service, and the local administration.
As reported by Bakyt Baryktabasov, head of the municipal enterprise "Road Management," the plans include the creation of sidewalks along the main streets of the village with a total length of 7 km.
“We are addressing the owners of buildings on Asan Bulatov, Egemberdiev, and other streets that have violated the 'red line.' Due to these constructions, there are no sidewalks on the main streets. To enhance pedestrian safety, we are starting the installation of a 2.25-meter-wide sidewalk on one side of the road. Owners of plots that have occupied part of the road must remove their buildings, including sheds and other structures, before the beginning of spring when the contracting organizations will start work,” he added.
Funding for the construction of sidewalks will be provided by the Ministry of Transport and Communications, and preliminary estimates indicate that about 40 million soms will be required.
Baryktabasov also noted that similar activities are planned throughout Karakol. Buildings that extend onto the road create difficulties in maintaining road infrastructure, including grading. Additionally, this complicates the movement of buses transporting passengers along the narrow streets of the city.
