The bridge in the Kara-Kulzhinsky district sparked discussion — the akim explained the situation
Local residents and experts state their intention to closely monitor the progress of the work and emphasize the need for a strength inspection of the bridge after its completion.
The Akim of the Kara-Kuldzhinsky district, Zamir Sydykov, explained that the bags were used as supports for wooden structures during the pouring of concrete.
“A video was posted on social media showing the work to reinforce the bridge located over the ‘Özgön Aryk’ canal on the road to the ‘MTF’ site in the Kara-Kochkor ayil aimak. In response to the appeals from the residents of the ‘MTF’ site, it was decided in November 2024 to reinforce the bridge built in the 1970s. This decision was prompted by the erosion of the foundation of the reinforced concrete blocks installed on the bridge supports. The tender for the work was won by the company OsOO ‘Remark Group LTD’, which implemented the project. The total amount of the tender was 163,255 soms. Under this tender, only work to reinforce the reinforced concrete slabs under the bridge and level the slabs on top was carried out. The bags that became the subject of discussion on social media were filled with sand and were used to support the wooden formwork during the pouring of concrete,” he noted.
