Kamila Talieva: The Cost of Contracts in Universities Needs to be Reviewed
A deputy spoke in favor of introducing restrictions on educational payments
At a meeting of the parliamentary committee on finance, budget, entrepreneurship, and competition development held the day before, Deputy Kamila Talieva proposed to review the cost of contracts at universities.
She noted that over the past two years, tuition fees have significantly increased, leading to numerous complaints from students' parents.
“Some rectors set excessively high rates while spending time abroad, enjoying the funds received from student contracts. We have already discussed the issue of fines, and they remain,” Talieva added.
According to data from the State Agency for Antimonopoly Regulation, after being released from state control, the cost of education in some universities has doubled.
