In the near future, the State Duma will begin discussing a bill aimed at tightening control over the financial activities of foreign agents. This was announced by the speaker of the Russian parliament, Vyacheslav Volodin, as reported by DW.

According to Volodin, this measure will allow for more effective monitoring of the monetary operations of foreign agents and prompt responses to cases of legal violations.

The proposal from Russian lawmakers includes the implementation of electronic data exchange. This means that the Ministry of Justice will be able to request information about the accounts and transfers of foreign agents in digital format, and banks and government agencies will be required to provide such data within three working days.

Currently, banks in Russia are required to provide information about the accounts, deposits, and operations of foreign agents upon request from the Ministry of Justice, but they do so on paper.
