Saudi Arabia will allocate a $50 million loan for the construction of schools in the Kyrgyz Republic

As part of the second phase of the project, Saudi Arabia has agreed to allocate a loan of $50 million for the construction of educational institutions in Bishkek and the Chui region. The Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture, and Housing and Communal Services of the Kyrgyz Republic, Samat Djanteliyev, announced this during a meeting of the committee on international affairs, defense, security, and migration, where they discussed the draft law on the ratification of the Loan Agreement between Kyrgyzstan and the Saudi Development Fund. The agreement was signed on October 9, 2025, in Bishkek.

According to Djanteliyev, the loan funds will be provided in US dollars for a period of 25 years. They will be used to construct five new schools and seven additional educational buildings in Bishkek, as well as to build two new schools in the Chui region, each of which will accommodate between 150 and 1,000 students.

The project will start in 2026 and be completed in 2029. Of this time, two years will be allocated for construction, and one year for the warranty period.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that the first phase of the project was successfully completed. He added that the main goal of implementing this agreement is to ensure equal access to quality education and improve social infrastructure through the construction of public schools.
