On January 25, 2026, the Minister of Transport and Communications, Absattar Syrgabaev, checked the progress of construction work on the Northern Bypass Road of Bishkek, according to information provided by the Ministry of Transport of the Kyrgyz Republic.

To improve conditions for motorists and reduce the likelihood of traffic jams on the 230-236 km section of the Almaty-Bishkek – Tashkent highway, three two-level interchanges were temporarily opened. Asphalt laying work will resume at the beginning of spring.

The contractor responsible for the construction of the first six-lane road is currently continuing earthworks on the remaining sections, adhering to winter construction standards.

Syrgabaev emphasized the importance of the quality of construction work and the necessity of strict adherence to the established schedule.

The Ministry of Transport also reminded that the total length of the Northern Bypass Road is 33.4 km. This year, the reconstruction of 15 km is planned to be completed, including 6 km on the Almaty-Bishkek-Tashkent highway and 9.1 km on the Bishkek-Naryn-Torugart route.
