The State Agency for Personal Data Protection reported new cases of fraud related to the distribution of fake messages on behalf of official representatives and agency employees. These messages, which are spread through messengers, especially WhatsApp, are sent by third parties with the aim of deceiving citizens.
It has been revealed that these messages have no relation to the work of the State Agency. The agency emphasized that it does not conduct official correspondence and does not send official notifications to citizens via messengers or other unofficial channels.
In this regard, the agency urges citizens and representatives of government structures:
- to be vigilant and critically assess such messages;
- not to disclose personal information, such as document details, confirmation codes, usernames, and passwords;
- to avoid clicking on suspicious links and fulfilling requests contained in these messages.
