The police are conducting an investigation following the tragic death of a child who underwent traditional treatment.

In the Uzgen district of the Osh region, a tragedy occurred: a one-and-a-half-month-old boy died after incisions were made on his back as part of a hijama procedure, popular in folk medicine. The child was urgently hospitalized on the night of January 21 in extremely critical condition, suffering from convulsions, significant bleeding, and post-hemorrhagic shock.

According to medical staff, the infant's hemoglobin level was critically low — only 43–45, while the norm is considered to be 110–120. Despite all the efforts of the doctors, they were unable to save the child's life. It is known that the parents sought help from folk healers, but the duration of the procedures remains unknown.

In connection with the incident, law enforcement agencies have initiated an investigation. Specialists have begun to establish all the circumstances of the incident, as well as to assess the actions of those who performed the hijama.
