Kyrgyzstan will receive $50 million from Saudi Arabia for new schools

The first phase of the project has been completed: 30 educational institutions have been built across the country


Kyrgyzstan will receive funding of 187.5 million Saudi riyals, equivalent to approximately 50 million dollars, from Saudi Arabia for the construction of new educational institutions. This funding is secured in a draft law concerning the ratification of the loan agreement, which will be considered by the Jogorku Kenesh.

The loan will be issued for a term of 25 years, including a grace period of 5 years, with an interest rate of 1.5% per annum.

The allocated funds will be directed towards the construction of five schools and seven additional buildings in Bishkek, as well as two educational institutions in the Chui region.

The project is planned to be implemented from 2026 to 2029.

The first phase has already been successfully completed, during which 30 schools were built throughout the republic.
