1500 calls a day. The Bishkek Emergency Medical Center will increase the number of dispatchers

There is a shortage of dispatchers handling calls to the number 103 in Bishkek. In this regard, it is planned to increase their number, as reported by the director of the Emergency Medical Center, Iskender Shayakhmetov, in an interview with the Kabar agency. He also explained the reasons for delays in connecting with medical personnel.

Shayakhmetov noted that an automated system has been implemented at the Center, allowing for real-time tracking of the location of teams and directing the nearest available team to the call. “Previously, if a call came from the upper part of the city, the vehicle could be sent from the lower part. Now the system itself determines the nearest team,” he clarified.

However, during peak hours, when there are only 8 dispatchers, this number proves to be insufficient, leading to queues. On average, about 1500 calls are received on number 103 each day, of which 160-180 are consultations.

“After the construction and opening of the station on Suerkulova Street, the number of dispatchers will increase to 24. Currently, we cannot expand the staff due to limited space in the building. The Minister of Health has already instructed to increase the number of dispatchers by 8, which will bring their total number to 16. These issues will be resolved, but it will take time. If we manage to implement our plans, the availability and quality of emergency medical services for citizens will significantly improve,” emphasized the director of the Emergency Medical Center.
