In the southern part of Bishkek, where high-rise buildings are actively being constructed, a new branch of the Emergency Medical Care Center will be opened. This was reported by Iskender Shayahemtov, the director of the EMS, in an interview with the Kabar agency.
He noted that currently there is only one station serving the rapidly developing area, which complicates the prompt arrival of teams to calls. The project documentation for the new station has already been completed, and the Minister of Health emphasized the necessity of implementing this project.
“In the coming days, we plan to visit the site where the station will be built to discuss all important details. After the opening of the new branch, 15 new ambulance teams will be formed, allowing doctors to arrive at calls within 10-15 minutes,” added Shayahemtov.
The station will be located on Suerkulov Street, near the 4th maternity hospital. Its opening is expected to significantly reduce travel time and improve access to emergency medical care.
As the head of the EMS explained, an important factor will also be the improvement of road infrastructure. Zhukeeva-Pudovkina Street has already been extended and paved, and construction of the road from the village of Orto-Sai to April 7 Street is ongoing. This will provide teams with the ability to access via the Southern Highway, helping to avoid traffic jams.
“Currently, ambulance vehicles have to reach calls from neighborhoods via Chingiz Aitmatov Avenue and Baytik Baatyr Street, where traffic jams often occur. After the opening of the station in ‘Ak-Orgo’, doctors have been able to reach Archa-Beshik, Ala-Too, and Ak-Ordo in 10-15 minutes,” emphasized Iskender Shayahemtov.
He added that improving roads and reducing traffic jams significantly saves time and directly affects the efficiency of medical assistance.
