Nurlanbek Turgunbek Uulu believes that there is less smog in Bishkek.
At a meeting of the Jogorku Kenesh, she reminded that the company "Gazprom Kyrgyzstan" had previously committed to gasifying these areas, but the work is not yet complete.
"The capital has more than a hundred new buildings, most of which are heated with coal. Gas has only been supplied to 54 residential areas. I asked a representative of the Ministry of Energy, but did not receive a clear answer. Why is there still no gas in those areas where 'Gazprom Kyrgyzstan' promised to supply it? Residents are forced to breathe harmful air. We have raised this issue more than once, as the problem of smog is acute not only in Bishkek but also in Osh and other cities," the deputy noted.
Chairman Nurlanbek Turgunbek uulu emphasized that work on solving the smog problem is ongoing. He noted that Bishkek has entered the category of "green cities" several times based on daily indicators.
"For the first time this winter, the city demonstrated indicators corresponding to the status of 'green cities' several times. This indicates that the level of smog has significantly decreased. The city administration is actively working to identify the causes of pollution and to eliminate its consequences. The methods being used to clean the air deserve praise, as it is important to highlight positive changes. Although the problem is not completely resolved, the level of smog has decreased," added the chairman.
