
The historic mosque was founded by Kemel Azhy Shabdan uulu — the first qazi of Muslims in Kyrgyzstan and the son of Shabdan Batyr.
A ceremony was held in Balakchy to unveil a memorial plaque at the historic mosque founded by Kemel Azhy Shabdan uulu (1882–1948), who was the son of the famous Shabdan Batyr and the first qazi of Muslims in Kyrgyzstan.
The idea to install the memorial plaque belongs to the State Secretary Arslan Koychiev. In this mosque, Kemel Azhy served as imam from 1946 to 1948, actively promoting spiritual values and contributing to the development of Islam in the Kyrgyz Republic.
Attending the event were the authorized representative of the president in the Issyk-Kul region Bakyt Zhetigenov, Aziret Mufti of the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Kyrgyzstan Abduaziz Kary Zakirov, Chairman of the Council of Scholars Zamir Rakiyev, as well as descendants of Shabdan Batyr and local residents.
The ceremony concluded with the reading of the Quran and prayers in memory of Shabdan Batyr, his sons, and Kemel Azhy.
