The Bishkek city administration plans to open one or two more waste sorting plants, said Aibek Junushaliev in a podcast by the Kabar agency. According to the mayor, the authorities aim to create jobs for citizens who previously earned a living by collecting garbage at the landfill.
“We want to offer people who survived by collecting waste at the old dump official employment. Instead of living near the 'mountain of garbage,' we are opening up opportunities for them to work at the plant, where all necessary conditions will be provided,” emphasized Junushaliev.
