The Sports Palace in Bishkek is set to undergo reconstruction at the initiative of the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, who instructed Mayor Aibek Junushaliev to oversee the renovation of the facility.
This information was announced during the opening of the new sports complex "Zhashtyk Arena," after which a working group was formed to develop the concept for the upcoming changes.
As noted by Aibek Junushaliev, the renovation work on the Sports Palace will be organized by the city administration. It is important that the historical style of the building is preserved. The reconstruction will be carried out in accordance with modern standards and with consideration for multifunctionality, similar to the "Zhashtyk Arena."
Particular attention is also being paid to the swimming pool located within the complex. It will be preserved and adapted to modern norms. After the reconstruction is completed, the Sports Palace is expected to become a convenient and accessible place for both professional athletes and city residents.
