"41 Degrees of Frost": Inspectors Assisted Drivers at the Töö-Ashuu Pass Last Night

On the Bishkek-Osh highway, which runs through the Suusamyr Valley in the Jayil District of the Chui Region, road inspectors are providing support to drivers. Due to the severe cold, some vehicles have stopped and are unable to continue moving, while others have had tire blowouts.

According to information provided by the press service of the Traffic Safety Department of the Main Internal Affairs Directorate of the Chui Region, the temperature in the section of the road between kilometers 131 and 132 reaches -38 degrees.

During the night from January 16 to 17, the severe frost caused many vehicles to fail to start and continue their journey. Inspectors assisted drivers who found themselves in difficult situations on the road.

In connection with the sharp deterioration of weather conditions, the department warns drivers embarking on long trips to exercise caution. It is recommended to strictly adhere to traffic rules to avoid accidents," the message states.

As of now, January 17, at 10:30, the temperature in the Suusamyr Valley and at the Too-Ashuu Pass ranges between -41 and -45 degrees.
