Kyrgyzstan and the USA will strengthen cooperation in the field of virtual assets and digital finance
During the conversation, Iminov informed his counterpart about the main goals and objectives of the national council, as well as discussed the activities of the secretariat as the executive body. He emphasized that the virtual assets market in the country has entered a stage of institutional growth, with a turnover of about 860 billion soms by the end of the first half of 2025.
Farhat Iminov highlighted the importance of implementing projects such as the introduction of a digital som, tokenization of real assets, improving the financial literacy of the population, as well as enhancing legislation and creating the necessary infrastructure, which will help Kyrgyzstan become a regional center for Web3 technologies.
It was also noted during the meeting that KGST has become the first stablecoin from the CIS countries to be listed on the Binance platform.
Iminov emphasized the agreements reached between the Presidents of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, and the USA, Donald Trump, in November 2025, pointing out that the digital economy, artificial intelligence, and the IT sector are priority areas for cooperation between the two countries. The U.S. Ambassador noted that Kyrgyzstan is demonstrating rapid development in the field of virtual assets, emphasizing that the country is ahead of other Central Asian states in this segment. He also pointed out the significant potential for further growth.
In this regard, there was an expressed interest in deepening cooperation with the Kyrgyz side, including the exchange of experience with relevant government agencies and companies in the USA on issues of development and regulation of the virtual assets sector, as well as organizing specialized programs and training.
