According to the European Climate Change Monitoring Service Copernicus (C3S), the year 2025 has entered the top three hottest years in the history of meteorological observations.

In her report "Global Climate Indicators," C3S Deputy Director Samantha Burgess noted that the temperature in 2025 was just 0.01 degrees Celsius lower than in 2023, while 2024 remains the hottest year since the beginning of meteorological observations.

According to Copernicus, the average global temperature from 2023 to 2025 exceeded pre-industrial levels by 1.5 degrees — this is the first time such an exceedance has been observed over a three-year period.

Experts warn that if the current rate of global warming continues, the limit set by the Paris Agreement of 2015, allowing for a temperature increase of 1.5 degrees Celsius, could be exceeded 10 years earlier than expected.
